Hello,
When it comes to sanding… my hands aren’t as durable as they used to be.
Then, on a large project, the sanding became painful again.
As usual the hard, rigid sanding blocks created painful pressure points on my hands. Plus, I had to constantly switch the sandpaper from one sanding block to another, because the surface of the project had different shapes.
I knew there had to be a better way
So, like many inventions the SandBag Kinetic Sander was born from necessity.
Slowly, an idea started forming that a fluid dynamics approach to sanding might work. Additionally, my understanding of ergonomics led me to analyze how traditional sanding blocks are held in the users hand.
After months of experimentation with different materials, the combination of deerskin and kinetic sand was born.
The first several bags I made were ok, but… not really where they needed to be. Finally, it all fell into place.
I was shocked at how well it worked. Plus, it was comfortable.
From personal experience, I knew the importance of protecting the Ulnar and Median Nerves from stress as they pass thru the wrist. To reduce stress while sanding, the users hand must remain in straight alignment thru the wrist/thumb/fingers.
The ergonomic design of the SandBag allows for correct gripping while in use.
If you are in the market for a quality, American tool please consider the SandBag Kinetic Sander.
Respectfully, Dennis
